I have called Hays County home for more than 40 years, and I've spent much of that time in service to this community. I made history as the first woman elected Hays County Judge, and during my term from 2007 to 2010 I guided the county through a national recession and one of the worst droughts in our history — planning ahead, listening to residents, and putting people over politics.
I'm a former business owner and have held leadership roles across the region, and I volunteer with the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter, helping transport animals to partner organizations so they have a better chance at care and placement.
I'm running for County Judge again as an independent because party politics gets in the way of real progress. I qualified for the ballot with 881 petition signatures gathered across the county, and I answer only to the people of Hays County — no party pressure, no political noise, just a focus on what actually matters: Hays County first, every time.
Instead of corporate welfare they should pay their fair share of taxes and those funds instead be used for retention, expansion and startup of small businesses. This is where most new jobs come from, not large corporations that bring their management staff with them.
All of the above. County is in need of a pet resource center with shelter diversion programs
